Prof. Pinjing He's Team Published in Nature Communications: Pathways and Selectivity of Fenton Degradation of Different Precursor Species of Dissolved Organic Matter

Recently, research findings from Prof. Pinjing He's team from CESE have been published in Nature Communications. The study focuses on the Fenton-derived DOM molecules from different species of dissolved organic matter (DOM). Using ultra-high resolution mass spectrometry (UHRMS) for molecular information analysis, combined with monomer reactions at different levels and stable isotope tracer reactions in actual media, the team revealed and validated the pathways and selectivity of Fenton degradation for different DOM species. This work provides direct theoretical evidence to support the targeted degradation of DOM molecules in organic wastewater via Fenton.
