On June 29, 2025, the 4th Shanghai Summit Forum on Interdisciplinary Studies of "Low-Carbon Development, Environmental Governance, and Health" was successfully hosted in Shanghai. The forum was jointly hosted by Tongji University's interdisciplinary research cluster on "Low-Carbon Development, Environmental Governance, and Health" and Shanghai's Peak Discipline in Environment and Ecology, and organized by the School of Environmental Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the School of Ecological and Environmental Sciences at East China Normal University.
Discussions focused on three key themes—"Climate Change, Pollution Reduction, and Carbon Emission Mitigation," "Emerging Contaminants and Ecotoxicology," and "Environmental Governance and Resource Recycling". The event served as a platform for cross institutional exchange and exploration of new pathways for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in environmental science.
