The 2025 Spring New Faculty Teaching Demonstration Activity at CESE was successfully held on April 9, 2025. Nine newly appointed teachers participated in the event, showcasing their teaching abilities. Special invitations were extended to university-level teaching supervisors Professor Zhang Hua, Associate Professor Liu Shenru, and Associate Professor Cheng Jun, who, along with experienced CESE professors Xu Jingcheng, He Wenzhi, and Dong Bingzhi, served as judging experts. Additionally, several undergraduate students attended the demonstration lectures and provided valuable feedback from the student perspective.
During the demonstration session, the nine newly appointed teachers delivered their lectures simultaneously across three venues. They meticulously designed their teaching content, closely following the syllabus while incorporating cutting-edge advancements in their respective disciplines. By utilizing modern teaching methods, they presented knowledge vividly, demonstrating excellent teaching competencies with enthusiasm and rigor. The judging experts provided individual evaluations, highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement in each teacher’s performance. Their detailed guidance focused on teaching objectives, instructional design, pedagogical methods, learning outcomes, and the integration of ideological and political education elements.
This demonstration activity employed a model combining teaching presentations with expert feedback, aiming to help young teachers standardize their teaching practices and refine their fundamental instructional skills. Moving forward, the College of Environmental Science and Engineering will continue to foster growth opportunities for young faculty members through regular initiatives such as the Young Teachers’ Association and teaching experience sharing sessions led by senior professors, thereby promoting the coordinated enhancement of teaching quality and educational excellence.
