The 2025 Young Teachers' Teaching Competition at CESE was successfully held on April 9, 2025. The competition featured a distinguished panel of experts, including Professor Ye Xingnan from Fudan University, Professor Zhou Tianshu from East China Normal University, and Professors Deng Huiping, Dong Bingzhi, and He Wenzhi from CESE. Zhou Shangjiu, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, along with representatives of faculty and students, attended the event to witness the outstanding teaching performances of young teachers competing on the same stage

During the competition, nine teachers showcased innovative teaching practices with numerous highlights, concentrating on three key themes: teaching environmental professional courses, AI empowerment in environmental studies, and interdisciplinary integration. Following on-site evaluations by the expert panel, five young teachers qualified to advance to the university-level teaching competition, where they will represent CESE in the Tongji University Young Teachers' Teaching Competition.
During the judges’ feedback session, each expert provided detailed professional critiques covering various aspects of the participants’ teaching, including instructional design, content delivery, classroom organization, language and demeanor, teaching originality, and reflective practices. They offered constructive suggestions for improvement and provided design guidance specifically for the newly introduced AI courses. The participating teachers expressed that they gained significant benefits from the insightful feedback.

It is reported that CESE made thorough preparations to organize this teaching competition effectively. In late February, the Academic Affairs Committee of the college issued the "Implementation Plan for the Assessment of the 2025 College of Environmental Science and Engineering Young Teachers' Teaching Competition," established an expert judging committee specifically for this event, and invited several senior professors from the college to serve as judges. In early March, the college held a symposium for young teachers to encourage eligible participants to actively engage in the competition and to enhance their teaching skills through this valuable platform.
