On April 21, 2025, the first session of the "High-Quality Development of Water Supply and Drainage in the New Era" series course Drainage System Class was officially launched under the auspices of CESE. This training program focused on the strategic transformation of the drainage industry and emerging trends in cutting-edge technological advancements. It attracted 45 business leaders from drainage system enterprises across the country.


College Dean Wang Zhiwei, Vice Dean Wu Deli, Senior Professor Yang Dianhai, and Wang Xing, Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Water Supply and Drainage Industry Association, jointly attended the opening ceremony. Over the three-day course, the college invited several senior professors to deliver lectures on topics such as the history of drainage development, team management, and sewage and sludge treatment. In addition to classroom instruction, field visits were organized to exemplary sites, including the Tongji University Smart Campus Cockpit and the Bailonggang Wastewater Treatment Plant, providing participants with valuable on-site learning experiences.
On April 23, 2025, the graduation ceremony for the "New Era Series Course on High-Quality Development of Water Supply and Drainage – Drainage System Class (First Session)" was successfully held. The event was attended by Zhou Shangjiu, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee; Vice Deans Wu Deli and Zheng Xiong; Wang Xing, Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Water Supply and Drainage Industry Association; Senior Professor Dai Xiaohu; and Professor Zhao Haifeng from the School of Economics and Management at Tongji University. The ceremony was chaired by Vice Dean Wu Deli, and graduation certificates were presented to all participants by the attending guests.
As a flagship training initiative in the water industry meticulously developed by CESE, the "New Era Series Course on High-Quality Development of Water Supply and Drainage" offers a comprehensive platform for both theoretical learning and practical experience. Through systematic instruction on industry frontiers, structured discussions, and field visits, the program fosters in-depth professional exchange. To date, three consecutive sessions have been successfully conducted.
