On May 16, 2025, the Shanghai University Counselors' Thematic Class Meeting Display, organized by the Shanghai Municipal Education and Health Work Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, concluded with outstanding success. The event featured a competitive selection process that included lesson plan evaluations, teaching presentation demonstrations, and on-site instruction. Out of many exceptional participants, only four counselors were awarded the prestigious Grand Prize.
Among them was Ge Rile, a post-1995 counselor from the College of Environmental Science and Engineering (CESE), who emerged as one of the top winners. Competing against numerous skilled peers, Ms. Ge secured the Grand Prize with her impressive teaching performance and impactful message.
Her class was themed “Let ‘Shining Youth’ Meet ‘Lush Mountains and Clear Waters’ – Cultivating a New Generation for Building a Beautiful China.” In this presentation, she analysed compelling examples such as the ecological restoration of the Saihanba Forest Farm and the environmental rehabilitation of the Suzhou River. Drawing on the spirit of Saihanba, she emphasized the crucial role environmental engineering plays in achieving a beautiful China. Her approach not only highlighted the practical relevance of environmental science but also strengthened students' sense of professional identity and responsibility.
Ms. Ge’s thoughtful content, combined with her engaging delivery, was widely praised by the judging panel and audience, earning her well-deserved recognition and acclaim.
