The 2025 CESE Graduation Ceremony Concludes Successfully

On June 11, 2025, under the inspiring theme "Youth Riding the Waves Towards Mountains and Seas, Tongji Dreams Setting Sail on a New Journey," the College of Environmental Science and Engineering (CESE) held its 2025 graduation ceremony with grandeur at the 129 Auditorium, Siping Road Campus.

The event was graced by the presence of Xu Bin, Secretary of the College Party Committee; Wang Zhiwei, Dean of the College; Lu Zhibo, Vice Dean; Zhou Shangjiu, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee; Liu Jia, Deputy Director of the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center; as well as heads of departments, research platforms, graduating class teachers, and faculty representatives. The ceremony was hosted by Lu Lijun, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee. Leaders, honoured guests, and proud parents witnessed the celebration of academic achievement and new beginnings.

The ceremony began with an address by Professor Wang Zhiwei, followed by the presentation of certificates to outstanding graduate and undergraduate students from Shanghai by Xu Bin and Zhou Shangjiu. Subsequently, Xia Shengji, Head of the Municipal Engineering Department; Yin Hailong, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Environmental Engineering Department; and Meng Xiangzhou, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Environmental Science Department, awarded certificates to exceptional graduate and undergraduate students of Tongji University. Lu Zhibo announced the list of recipients for the Outstanding Undergraduate Graduation Theses (Designs) of Tongji University for 2025 and presented the certificates.

Representing the faculty, Professor Zhu Zhiliang from the Environmental Science Department delivered heartfelt farewell remarks to the graduates. Speaking on behalf of the graduating class, Guo Junru, a 2025 master’s graduate, urged fellow graduates to integrate their knowledge with the country’s strategic needs and to carry the Tongji spirit into diverse fields as they embark on their new journeys.

In a touching gesture of gratitude, the 2025 graduates presented the college with a heartfelt gift a "Love Umbrella Station" symbolizing their appreciation for the college’s care and their continued commitment as “Tongji Environmentalists.” Receiving the gift on behalf of the college, Zhou Shangjiu expressed that it embodies the students' deep gratitude and their lasting connection to the CESE community.

Finally, Lu Lijun, on behalf of the college, extended best wishes to all graduates, encouraging them to embrace the vast world with courage, remain true to their passions, and move forward fearlessly through life’s challenges. With this, the 2025 CESE Graduation Ceremony came to a successful and memorable conclusion.
