The 2023 Academic Annual Conference of the Ecological Civilization Education Research Branch of the China Association of Higher Education was successfully held, along with the "Modernization of Harmonious Coexistence between Humans and Nature"

The 2023 Annual Conference of the Ecological Civilization Education Research Branch of the China Association of Higher Education, along with the "Modernization of Harmonious Coexistence between Humans and Nature" Forum, was held in Shanghai on November 18-19. Jiang Enlai, Vice President, and Secretary-General of the China Association of Higher Education; He Kebin, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chairman of the Ecological Civilization Education Research Branch; Duan Ning and Xu Zuxin, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Professors of Tongji University; Shi Zhenming,Vice President of Tongji University; and Huang Xiangfeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Wen Zongguo, a professor at the Tsinghua University.

In the keynote report session, Professor Qian Yi, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the School of Environment of Tsinghua University; Professor Duan Ning, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the College of Environmental Science and Engineering of Tongji University; Ren Shuben, former director of the Department of Resource Conservation and Environmental Protection of the National Development and Reform Commission; and Tian Chunxiu, deputy director of the Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization Research Center, delivered keynote speeches at the conference.

During the conference, the 5th National Forum of Directors of Ecological Civilization Research Institutes was held, and a roundtable forum was set up to discuss progress in the establishment of national ecological civilization research institutes. The conference hosted three sub-forums: the Forum on Ecological Civilization and Green Development, the Forum on Ecological Civilization Education Path and Practice, and the Forum on Ecological Civilization and Curriculum Ideology and Political Practice. More than 70 representatives delivered speeches, showcasing China’s fruitful achievements in promoting high-quality development of ecological civilization education.
