In November 2023, the "Knowledge to Action Cup" Shanghai College Students' Social Practice Competition came to its conclusion. Mr. Wang Rui's student work titled "Wings of the Green Water Dream - Collaborative Practice and Exploration of Healthy Water Environment and Sci-Tech Innovation in the Yangtze River Delta" earned the "Knowledge to Action Cup" a special prize. Ms. Gu Yifan's student project, "Moving with Carbon - Comprehensive Practice of Carbon Sequestration by the Chinese People in the Post-Peak Era," received second place in the "Knowledge to Action Cup."
This year, 11 teams ventured into various locations such as Shanghai, Shaanxi, Heilongjiang, and Shanxi, producing many outstanding teams. The "Intelligent Shanghai Health Guard Team" focuses on sustainable and intelligent development in the Yangtze River Delta integration demonstration area. They constructed a smart water environment monitoring system by integrating digital water environment monitoring technology with intelligent remote-sensing mapping technology. The "Green Island Agriculture and Forestry" Practice Team addressed the insufficient fine-grained control of existing dual-carbon targets, complex sources of carbon neutrality data, and inconsistent standards. They provided suggestions for the hierarchical development of towns and villages in Chongming District, China. The "Strong Thoughts, New Chapter" team excavates the stories of the past decade in the dimensions of red party building, ecological civilization, and rural revitalization between the College of Environment Science and Engineering at Tongji University and Shilu Village in Chongming, actively promoting the implementation of practical actions in thematic education. The "Unity for Carbon Reduction" team engages in rural revitalization in Chongming. They independently established a carbon emission accounting model for the entire rural domestic wastewater treatment process. Their practices gained media coverage in newspapers, such as the Xinmin Evening Post, and received extensive social attention.
