The Profession Open Day of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering was successfully held

On April 25, the Profession Open Day of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering was held in the Lecture Hall 121 of Mingjinglou. More than 120 students from Tongzhou School and teachers Jiang Yuyun, Wang Yulong and Xia Qing participated in the Open Day. Lu Lijun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Institute, Xia Shengji, Director of the Department of Municipal Engineering, Qiu Yuping, director of the Department of Environmental Science, Gong Hui, deputy director of the Department of Environmental Engineering, attended the event. The event will be held in the 515 Laboratory of Ecology Building and the Naked Eye 3D Experience Hall. The activity was presided over by Xu Chang, secretary of the first Party Branch of Undergraduate students of the College.

Ms. Lu Lijun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the College, made an opening speech for the event. Prof. Xia Shengji, director of the Department of Municipal Engineering, told in a humorous tone that a backbone teacher of our college entered our college with excellent results in the college entrance examination and took root here. Now, he has made good development in scientific research, academic research and administrative management, fully demonstrating that the School of Environment is a place to cultivate talents and warmly welcomes students to join.

Gong Hui, deputy head of the Department of Environmental Engineering, answered the questions raised by the freshmen of Tongzhou School about "what is the environmental discipline to do" and "how to cross with frontier disciplines such as artificial intelligence", explained the mission and responsibility of environmental people to cultivate the land of the motherland and build ecological civilization, and demonstrated the advanced concept of integrating professional and international standards of the School of Environment.

Yu Zhenyang, deputy head of the Department of Environmental Science, showed the excellent teaching staff of the School of Environment, the fruitful scientific research achievements of the discipline and the development prospects of the graduates in an all-round way, emphasizing that the school will try its best to provide the best platform for students and escort their scientific research and study.

Subsequently, the outstanding teachers and students representatives of the three departments shared one by one.

Huang Tianrong, a 2019 undergraduate student of water supply and drainage science and engineering, introduced his learning and life experience in water supply and drainage for new students from the aspects of curriculum setting, innovative experiment experience, graduation direction, etc. He encouraged students to have a deep understanding of various majors in the School of Environment, find their own interest points, and spend a colorful college life.

Teacher Dai Ruobin and Teacher Zhang Qingran from the Department of Environmental Engineering shared their learning and life stories in the School of Environment from their own teaching, research content and service experience, and encouraged new students to strive to grow into social pillars and professional elites with a strong sense of social responsibility for sustainable development, excellent innovation ability and practical ability, and take on the responsibility of global environmental governance.

With the theme of "Five Treasures", Deng Haoyuan, an undergraduate student of environmental science in the class of 2019, introduced the disciplinary characteristics of environmental science to the freshmen from the aspects of curriculum setting, social practice, class construction, alumni resources, and future development, and welcomed the freshmen to join the School of Environment and contribute to the cause of environmental protection in China.

After the sharing session, the students came to Mingjinglou Hall to have in-depth exchanges with teachers of various specialties. At the same time, the college opened the microbubble experimental device visit and the naked eye 3D experience museum, and the students really walked into the experiment and scientific research site to experience the strong scientific research atmosphere of the college.

This activity successfully built an exchange platform between the College of Environment and the College of Freshmen, helping freshmen who are about to separate their majors to have a comprehensive understanding of the various majors of our college, expand their academic horizons and stimulate their professional interests. In the future, our college will further strengthen the exchanges and interactions with freshmen colleges, especially Tongzhou School.
