Personal profile

Zhang Dong is currently an associate professor, master's supervisor, and doctoral supervisor at the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tongji University. Long term focus on water pollution control and sludge resource utilization, organic solid waste treatment and disposal, biomass energy and carbon reduction and carbon neutrality, and environmental antibiotic resistance gene control. Hosted/participated in more than 10 scientific research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, major scientific and technological projects for water pollution control and treatment, key projects of the National Science and Technology Support Program, and the National High tech Research and Development Program (863 Program). Published over 30 papers in top environmental journals such as Environmental Science&Technology and Water Research, with over 600 citations. Apply for/authorize 14 invention patents. Received the first prize for technological invention in Shanghai. As a peer reviewer for over 50 journals including Water Research, Chemical Engineering Journal, Journal of Hazardous Materials, ACS Sustainable Chemical&Engineering, Biosource Technology, Applied Energy, Waste Management, and more. Served as a member of the Youth Expert Committee of the Chinese Biogas Society and the Youth Expert Committee of the Chinese Anaerobic Biotechnology, an expert in the evaluation and evaluation information system of the Ministry of Education, an expert in the Shanghai Science and Technology Expert Database, and a liaison expert with the Taiyuan Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.
