International Conference on Disinfection and Disinfection By-Products Successfully Held in Shanghai

From July 7 to 10, the International Conference on Disinfection and Disinfection By-Products (DDBP 2026) was successfully held in Shanghai. The conference was hosted by the College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tongji University, and co-organized by the State Key Laboratory of Water Pollution Control and Green Resource Recycling, the Key Laboratory of Urban Water Supply, Water Conservation and Water Environment Management in the Yangtze River Delta of the Ministry of Water Resources, the UNEP-Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development, Shanghai Chengtou Waterworks (Group) Co., Ltd., Water Purification Technology Periodical Press, and Shibeian Ecological Technology Co., Ltd., among other institutions. Professor Luo Wei, Vice Dean of the Office of Scientific Research and Development at Tongji University; Dr. Li Hong, IWA Asia-Pacific Regional Director; and Dr. Emmanuel Mousset, Senior Researcher at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and expert in the field of disinfection technology, delivered welcoming remarks respectively. Professor Xu Bin of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tongji University, served as Conference Chair. The conference attracted nearly 100 international experts and scholars from over ten countries across Asia, the Americas, and Europe.

The International Conference on Disinfection and Disinfection By-Products is a highly influential international academic conference in the fields of disinfection, disinfection by-products, and related areas. Following the successful hosting of the first four editions in Mexico, China, Italy, and Spain, the fifth edition returned to China and was held in Shanghai.
