First Working Meeting of the Second Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Urban Water Supply, Water Conservation and Water Environment Management in the Yangtze River Delta, Ministry of Water Resources Successfully Held

On June 25, the first working meeting of the Second Academic Committee of the Key Laboratory of Urban Water Supply, Water Conservation and Water Environment Management in the Yangtze River Delta, Ministry of Water Resources (hereinafter referred to as "the Laboratory") was held at the Mingjing Building of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering. This meeting marked the first academic committee session since the Laboratory was officially incorporated into the sequence of key laboratories under the Ministry of Water Resources. Ni Li, First-Level Inspector of the Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology, Ministry of Water Resources; Xu Zuxin, Honorary Director of the Academic Committee and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Tang Hongwu, Director of the Academic Committee and Academician; Cao Hongbin, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Xu Xuejun, Vice President of Tongji University; and the leadership team of the College of Environmental Science and Engineering attended the meeting.

The Laboratory is led by Tongji University, with collaborating units including the Shanghai Water Management Affairs Center (Shanghai River and Lake Management Affairs Center), the Shanghai Water Supply Management Affairs Center (Shanghai Water Conservation Promotion Center), and the Water Development Research Center of the Taihu Basin Authority, Ministry of Water Resources. The Laboratory passed its establishment acceptance review on December 23, 2025, and was officially incorporated into the sequence of key laboratories under the Ministry of Water Resources. The convening of this meeting marks the official entry of the Laboratory into a new phase of development.
