15th International Student Conference on Environment and Sustainability Successfully Held

On June 12, 2026, the 15th International Student Conference on Environment and Sustainability was held at Tongji University. Centered on the era theme of climate action and sustainable development, the conference featured a series of exciting events including the main forum, the Global Environment Solutions Challenge, a cultural night, and an exhibition of competing entries.

Susan Gardner, Director of the Ecosystems Division of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Tang Jiafu, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Shanghai Ecology and Environment Bureau, Xi Jiayin, Vice President of Agricultural Bank of China Shanghai Branch, and Liu Run, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongji University, attended and delivered speeches respectively. Zhang Linxiu, Director of the UNEP International Ecosystem Management Partnership, also attended the event.

Experts, scholars and industry representatives from international organizations in over 20 countries and regions including Germany, Spain, the UK and Switzerland, 102 students from 40 teams across 21 countries, and nearly 200 Chinese and international observers gathered at Tongji University to explore new paths and solutions for global ecological and environmental governance.
