On October 16, 2025, CESE hosted a seminar on developing large-scale models for the environmental discipline, inviting experts from iFLYTEK Group to join the discussions. The expert team presented a systematic overview of the applications of large-scale models in higher education, highlighting the technical features and emerging trends of generative AI, along with practical cases of industry–university collaboration. Focusing on the specific needs of the environmental field, they proposed potential applications of large-scale models in pollution source tracing and simulation, ecological environment prediction, optimization of environmental management plans, and enhancement of monitoring and analytical techniques. The seminar provided valuable industry insights to support CESE’s future efforts in building large-scale models for environmental research and education.
