On March 27, 2025, CESE successfully hosted a development seminar for young teachers. The seminar, centered on the theme "Support Policies for Young Teachers and Key Talent Development Initiatives," was attended by over 50 participants, including Xu Bin, Secretary of the College Party Committee; Wang Zhiwei, Dean of the college; Zheng Xiong, Vice Dean of the college; and numerous young teachers. The meeting was chaired by Vice Dean Zheng Xiong.

Dean Wang Zhiwei began by expressing his gratitude to the young teachers for their valuable contributions and efforts toward the college’s development. He then introduced the updated version 2.0 of the support policies for young teachers, referred to as the “Eight Initiatives for Young Talent.” He provided a detailed explanation of the college’s supportive measures in key areas such as engineering competency development, teaching skill enhancement, additional mentor qualifications, scientific research, academic activities, and academic promotion evaluations.
The young teachers engaged in extensive discussions, drawing on their personal experiences. They expressed appreciation for the support policies implemented by the college in recent years, while also raising new requests, including optimizing graduate student quotas and improving office environments. They hoped the college would continue to optimize resource allocation and better address the needs of young teachers to facilitate the high-quality development of the institution.
During the talent development exchange segment, Vice Dean Zheng Xiong provided an overview of the talent program application process and requirements. He emphasized the importance of aligning applications with individual circumstances and submission criteria, encouraging early preparation and strategic planning to ensure targeted and effective applications. Additionally, he reminded young teachers to maintain focus on their core responsibilities and strive for comprehensive growth.
Xu Bin concluded the seminar with a summary speech, highlighting that young teacher are the future backbone of the college’s teaching, research, and social services. He reaffirmed the college’s commitment to implementing the “Eight Initiatives for Young Talent” policies to create favorable conditions for their development. Furthermore, he encouraged young teachers to actively seek external resources, align with cutting-edge disciplines, accelerate their transformation and growth, and participate in various exchange activities to collectively promote the high-quality development of the college.
