Solid Waste Treatment and Resource Utilization (Fourth Edition), edited by Prof. Zhao Yucai's team, was published and released

In August 2023, the textbook “Solid Waste Treatment and Resource Recovery (Fourth Edition),” edited by Professor Zhao Youcai and his team from the College of Environmental Science and Engineering at Tongji University, was first printed and published by Chemical Industry Press.

“Solid Waste Treatment and Resource Recovery” has been widely welcomed since the first edition was launched in 2006. It has been revised three times and is a national-level planning textbook for general higher education during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” and the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan.” The fourth edition, based on the previous three editions, revised the following aspects: First, it strengthens the two main lines of solid waste treatment and resource recovery, combines theory and practice, and comprehensively describes the new technologies, methods, and theories of solid waste treatment and resource recovery. Second, it highlights the characteristics of engineering technology. Based on the editor’s research and development results and engineering practice, it widely incorporates technological progress at home and abroad, assists with QR code video animations, systematically describes the process of pollution control and resource recovery, and combines process design principles with application examples. The structure is complete, the main line is clear, and it is illustrated in detail. Third, it adds content to urban domestic waste classification and resource recovery, environmental sanitation informatization, hazardous waste treatment and resource recovery, sanitary landfill informatization, incineration power plant informatization, and online monitoring.
