On 24-25 August 2018, the Southeast Asia regional conference on "Sustainable Water Management Network in Developing Countries" was held at Tongji University.
"Sustainable Water Management Network in Developing Countries" conference is funded by DAAD Germany and is coordinated by the Brunswick Polytechnic University of Germany. The network includes branches in southeast Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and North Africa, as well as sub-Saharan Africa. Other members of the Southeast Asian region include the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand; Bogor Agricultural University and Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia; Institute for Environment and Vietnam Resources and Thuyloi University in Vietnam etc. Tongji University is the only member of China in the network.
This conference was undertaken by CESE. The conference mainly discussed the 2018 annual work plan and its promotion, including student exchange, teacher exchange, capacity building, joint research, regional meetings, and so on. The meeting discussed joint research topic applications for 2018 and issues such as the future sustainable development of the network.
