For the positive response to "Plastic Battle Quick Fix”, the initiative of World Environment Day in 2018, with the support of the Shanghai Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, Huangpu District Eenvironmental Protection Bureau, Tongji University, and Sinan mansions, 18 students of Tongji University from China, Chile, Nepal, Laos, Sudan, and Jordan designed a set of creative exhibits “Pause Plastic” by plastic waste together, which were exhibited on the outdoor square of Sinan Mansions in Huangpu District, Shanghai on June 3-6, 2018, aiming to show people the plastic waste material damage to the Marine ecological environment as well as the negative impact on human life itself, let visitors of Shanghai citizens into "plastic ocean" and personally realize that the convenience brought by plastic products is only temporary, but its damage to the environment is huge, a small act of throwing away plastic waste can bring life threats to countless sea creatures. By making small changes in their lives, such as choosing alternatives and recycling plastic products, individuals can contribute to the protection of the Marine environment.
Tongji university, as a long-term partner of the UNEP, positively responsed to this initiative on art creative plastic model by UNEP Asia-Pacific Region Office, more than ten cities, including Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Oakland, Bali, etc in the asia-pacific region would also organize publicity activities for this purpose.
