National Training Base for Environmental Protection

In order to consolidate the construction of basic capacity of environmental protection training under the new situation, cultivate professional environmental protection training institutions and improve the actual effectiveness of training, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China has decided to set up a number of National Training Bases for Environmental Protection since 2016. After organization recommendation and comprehensive evaluation, the College of Environmental Science and Engineering of Tongji University was selected as the “National Training Base for Environmental Protection” by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment in 2018.

National Training Base for Environmental Protection is an important place and basic condition for the training of cadres and talents in the field of environmental protection. As required by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the units selected to set up the National Training Base for Environmental Protection should take the initiative in serving the environmental management work with improvement of the environmental quality as the key point. The units should also actively undertake the task of environmental protection training and deeply study the training demand so as to develop training projects and courses with more pertinence and practicability and form a high-level teaching team consisted of full-time and part-time teachers. What’s more, the units should constantly improve the equipment in training places while establishing and perfecting the training management rules and regulations and therefor further refine the advantages and characteristics of the training.

Aiming at providing strong support for building a team of high-level professional environmental protection talents, firmly fighting the battle of pollution prevention and control, vigorously promoting the construction of ecological civilization and the protection of ecological environment as well as speeding up the construction of a beautiful China, the college has thoroughly implemented the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on the construction of ecological civilization and improved the level of both software and hardware of the base, working hard to improve the construction and make the most use of the National Training Base for Environmental Protection since being awarded the title of the Base.
