Brief Introduction:
Zhiliang Zhu is a professor specializing in water treatment technology and environmental chemistry. Areas of research are: adsorption and catalytic decontamination of inorganic and organic pollutants from water using novel functional materials, control and health risk assessment of disinfection by-products in drinking water. Special research focuses on: synthesis of novel functional materials including composite metal oxides, nanomaterials, layered double hydroxides materials, molecular imprinting polymers and their application in the removal of heavy metal ions, arsenic ions and organic substances; effect of coexistent metal ions, organic substances and halide ions on formation and distribution of disinfection by-products during chlorination of drinking water. The projects undertook by Zhiliang Zhu are mainly supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Hi-Tech Research and Development Program of China and the National Major Project of Science & Technology Ministry of China. Professor Zhu is Member of International Water Association (IWA) and International Panel on Chemical Pollution (IPCP), he has published more than 100 International Journal papers in his research field. As a reviewer, Zhiliang Zhu serves more than 20 international peer reviewed journals including Applied Catalysis B, Water Research, Environmental Science and Technology, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Chemical Engineering Journal, Electrochemistry Communications, Journal of Environmental Sciences, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, Desalination,RSC Advances and so on.
