2026 Plenary Meeting of the Ecological Environment and Healthy City Special Committee, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Successfully Held

On May 22, 2026, the 2026 Plenary Meeting of the Ecological Environment and Healthy City Special Committee, Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development was successfully held at Tongji University.

Nearly 30 committee members and staff from the Science and Technology Commission Affairs Center attended the meeting, including Liu Qianwei, First-level Inspector of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Science and Technology Commission; Zhang Xin, Deputy Director of the Special Committee and Shanghai Master of Engineering Survey and Design; Huang Yuandong, Deputy Director of the Special Committee and Second-grade Professor of the School of Environment and Architecture, University of Shanghai for Science and Technology; and James Brearley, overseas committee member and founder of BAU.

At the meeting, participating committee members actively offered suggestions from perspectives of practical needs, cooperation demands, and mechanism innovation. They proposed cooperation ideas such as sharing practical scenarios, opening experimental platforms, and providing data and cases, to promote in-depth integration of industry, academia, research and application, and explore a whole-chain collaborative model where the government sets the direction, universities strengthen scientific research, and enterprises focus on application.
