Recently, the research team led by Professor Zhendong Lei from CESE published a paper titled Screening high-quality lignins extracted from biomass to prepare biobased wood adhesives in Nature Protocols. The study proposes a standardized process for screening high-quality lignin from biomass and using it to prepare bio-based wood adhesives, providing key technical support for high-value utilization of lignin and large-scale application of bio-based adhesives. This achievement is expected to facilitate the transformation of lignin from a low-value byproduct into high-value bio-based materials, while offering important technical references for forest carbon sinks and the sustainable value addition of biomass, thereby promoting the efficient resource utilization of agricultural and forestry waste.
