On April 18, 2024, a university-enterprise collaboration meeting between Tongji University and Beijing Enterprises Water Group (BEWG) was successfully held. Yu Liguo, Rotating Executive President of BEWG, Xu Bin, Chairman of the College Council, Wang Zhiwei, Dean of the College, and other representatives from both sides attended. The session was hosted by Wu Deli, Vice Dean of the College.

Wang Zhiwei warmly welcomed the delegation from Beijing Enterprises Water Group (BEWG) and provided a comprehensive overview of the college's development history and academic programs. He emphasized that, in light of the dual transformation driven by national strategic needs and the evolving environmental protection industry, universities must adapt their academic structures and research directions accordingly while innovating talent cultivation models. Wang highlighted the importance of this collaboration, expressing the college’s commitment to leveraging the strengths of both parties for mutual benefit, win-win cooperation, and shared development.President Yu Liguo noted that BEWG and the college have a longstanding foundation of collaboration, and this meeting comes at a pivotal moment as the group enters a new phase of transformational development. He explained that BEWG aims to lead traditional water service enterprises toward new business directions through technology-driven innovation and professional company clusters. Yu expressed hope that this partnership would fully utilize the college's academic and research strengths and BEWG's industry resources to advance industry-education integration, technological innovation, and joint efforts to support national strategies such as the green, high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.Xu Bin emphasized the need to maximize the strengths of both parties in areas such as technological leadership, achievement transformation, talent training, and innovation and entrepreneurship. He called for concrete steps to establish a world-class industry-education integration platform and set a new benchmark for comprehensive university-enterprise cooperation.
