报告题目：Methods for membrane Characterization with focus on Pore size distribution
主讲人：Roger M. BEN AÏM教授，IFTS科学顾问，IWA战略委员会杰出学者
R. BEN AIM directly supervised 50 PhD students. He was successively involved in Flow of fluids through porous media then in filtration and liquid solid separation, then during the last 40 years in membrane separation for water and wastewater treatment. He leaded (1982-19884) the first joint research program between CNRS and Lyonnaise des Eaux for the development of hollow fibres membranes and modules for drinking water production resulting in the foundation of the company Aquasource. He was a member of the scientific Committee of the UNESCO Centre for Membrane Science and Technology at UNSW Sydney and of the scientific advisory Committee of the Temasek program (NTU, Singapore) from 2005 to 2008. He was currently involved in several international research projects with the university of Algiers, Seoul National University and Pusan National University in Korea, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Asian Institute of Technology of Bangkok (“double degree” PhD program2006-2008), University of Technology of Sydney ( “double degree “ PhD program during the years 2002-2006).
From 2005 to 2008 he was involved in European research projects like EUROMBRA (MBR) and MEDINA (2006-2008)
His present field of research is focussed on membrane characterization and fouling sensors development from one part and from other part on the application of hybrid membrane processes (Membrane Bioreactors and Chemically Assisted Membrane processes) to waste water treatment and reuse as to pre-treatment of seawater before RO desalination. He is involved in research projects with UTS Sydney in the same area.
R. BEN AÏM chaired the organizing committees of international conferences like ICOM 2002 at Toulouse, France. He was involved in the merging of the 2 membrane groups of IWA and chaired the resulting Membrane Technology group of IWA from 2000 to 2008.
